So thrilled to be speaking to Craig Scanlon, Steve Hanley, Paul Hanley & Marc Riley in Manchester to celebrate the release of The Fall: Singles Live Vol, One 1978-81 on Popstock Records. It will take place at the Night and Day Café at 7pm on Thursday 8th May. I have listened to and loved the Fall since I was a kid, hearing the songs at first played by John Peel and Janice Long on the radio. Their many iterations have followed the nation’s [sub]psyche; their creativity matching the undulations of this peculiar country – never once falling foul of fashion or received wisdom in any form, musical or cultural.
Anyway, pretentiousness over and to repeat, I love them. Ticket holders will be able to collect the album on the night, a day ahead of the official release date, and get it personally signed and if you are coming to the event and have a question for the band, you can mail Piccadilly Records and remember to include your name.
