“[Sian’s workshop is] …highly recommended to get them on the literary bandwagon, and a great outlet for those creative energies.” The Guardian Guide

Talks and Stuff

I was a lecturer and tutor at the London School of Journalism on Music and Arts journalism for three years. I have taken part in discussion panels on pop music at places including the Clerkenwell Literary Festival, the ICA, Rough Trade East and others. I have been on ver radio and telly talking about pop music – most recently BBC4 and the Today programme.

BOOKS…

I have done quite a few author visits to primary schools and libraries around the country, discussing story-telling, providing writing workshops and illustration events. I have also appeared at the Cheltenham Book festival, the Edinburgh Book Festival, Townhall Tales in Hackney, Half Moon Children’s Theatre, Seven Stories in Newcastle, The Big Draw workshops and more. Events can take from 30 minutes to a a full morning/day. From simple readings, to Q and As and full creative workshops – ages range from 7-12 years (yrs 3-6) and can be from a class of 20 to more than a hundred future scribes.

For all literary events, I am now represented by Authors Aloud UK. Please click here and they will set their superb organising skills to “high” and see that we create the best event Ever Indeed Possible. I am DBS checked.

ALSO – MAP WORKSHOPS….

For creating a unique wall map for kids, non-kids and interested passers by, I now do map events. Kids maps are great for shops and schools – creating a unique kids-eye-view of local life. Kids can map their area – the school, their home, the playground, a favourite sweet shop, the strange curly tree on the corner near the park…
